From the Garden
A couple of interesting sunflowers from the garden. I liked the first one because it is a little wonky. Not the typical sunflower, personality!
The second one was only partially blossomed. I find it fascinating that those tiny unblossomed petals get as large as they do. It would be fascinating to watch. Do they grow and engorge like a butterflies wings? I might have to investigate this a little further.
Ink and watercolor in a small watercolor moleskine.

Very lovely paintings, Brian!
Love botht these sunflowers..they both do have personality, like you say!
These are bth excellent brian. Great job.
these are very cool. i love that you picked flowers that weren't "perfect" ... much more interesting that way.
I've never been game take on a sunflower. Yours are beautiful, Brian. Just the right amount of information.
Oooh, I looove sunflowers! Both of the paintings are great! Such patience with the petals!
Brian, well done. They have lots of characters and not your run-of-the-mill sunflowers. And this is what watercolours is all about.
OMG! I love these 'so natural' sunflowers! You did a marvelous job on them.
Lovely watercolours, and as you say great characters too.
